Free resource helps IT consultants and small firms identify, avoid, reduce and insure common business risks

Dallas, Texas (Vocus) July 14, 2010

TechInsurance, the leading online provider of business insurance for IT firms, and ContractEdge, the legal forms provider for IT businesses, have published an online book that gives IT consultants and owners of small IT businesses tips, advice and tools that they can use to reduce risk and improve their project management processes. The eBook is available for free download at www.techinsurance.com and www.contractedge.com.

“We identified a need for this eBook because so many of the 13,000-plus technology businesses we serve came to us with questions about how to better manage risk,” said Jim Cochran, president and founder of both TechInsurance and ContractEdge. “Business insurance and contracts form a solid foundation for a risk-management strategy, but there are many other steps that small IT business owners can take to protect themselves – especially in those instances when you’re dealing with a risk that can’t be insured.”

The articles provide information to help TechInsurance and ContractEdge customers identify, avoid, reduce and insure common business risks. For easy reference, the articles are organized chronologically, in the order an IT service provider would encounter each topic while progressing through a typical project timeline. Readers will also find links to additional information and resources, including free, customizable project management templates. Topics include:

Why Clients Require You To Carry Insurance

What Makes Good Network Service Agreements

Translating Customer Needs Into Projects

Software Development Agreements

Web Site Development Agreements

Project Agreements

Project Timelines

Temporary Personnel

Subcontractor Agreements

Employment Contracts

ASP Contracts

Managing Clients’ Expectations

Errors and Omissions Insurance

“Well-crafted risk management and project management processes, used consistently in all client relationships, can help IT service providers avoid mistakes and create strong client relationships,” Cochran noted. “And that can help small business owners stay away from costly lawsuits. Our customers will find ideas and tools in this eBook that they can apply on the job right away.”

(PRWEB) July 12, 2010

AgentsofAmerica.ORG (AoA) is proud to share numerous new tools to help insurance agents grow their business. These tools take into account 2010’s unique challenges (the economy) and opportunities (inexpensive online ways to reach more customers).

“There are now many effective ways to engage the people most interested in buying insurance, and provide the information they need. In addition, we can reach a much larger audience for far less money than traditional promotional activities,” explains Angelo J. Gioia, Executive Director of AgentsofAmerica.ORG. “Imagine connecting with more qualified leads, rather than spending endless hours making cold calls.”

The broad program developed by AgentsofAmerica will enable agents to easily use electronic tools to reach out to more customers. In fact, now it’s very likely for customers follow agents, in addition to the usual method of agents trying to connect with customers. No other organization provides such a comprehensive program to help agents use time more efficiently. Program elements include:

· Access to Social Media Expertise: What is social media and how is it used to grow a business? AoA has partnered with Social Media Strategist Cynthia Cavoto of Marketing That Works for You to provide agents with expertise and consistency for using FaceBook,Twitter, LinkedIn and blogging to reach and engage target audiences.

· Webinars and Education: Starting in September, AoA will provide agents with a series of educational webinars on using the latest electronic tools to engage with more people. Topics will include how to grow and manage email lists.

· E-Newsletters: Monthly e-newletters are available to all agents (sign-up at AoA Contact Us page). These have useful tools and tips, and agents can send them to their email contacts as if they are from the agent.

· E-Books: Chapter 11 of the AoA e-book, “The Contemporary Supervisor’s Guide to Managing Employees”, By Kathleen M.

When has anyone ever received a greeting card in the mail and not opened it? Personalized messaging can add big impact to this “old-fashioned” direct-mail option.

Bloomington, IL (PRWEB) July 9, 2010

In this age of instantaneous e-communications, the idea of mailing greeting cards may seem so 20th century. Even in a largely digital world, however, a personal touch can help build trust and enhance business.

Progressive Impressions International (Pii) breathes new life into the “old-fashioned” greeting card with business-specific milestones and industry-leading personalization capabilities that incorporate each recipient’s name within the graphic image. Businesses can also personalize the message and add their contact information to the cards.

This product development was driven by a simple fact: Everyone likes to get personal mail. In fact, 90 percent of Americans say they look forward to receiving personal letters and greeting cards, according to the Greeting Card Association. A personalized greeting card conveys value and warmth. It provides a tactile experience that can be relived time after time — rather than deleted and forgotten like an e-mail.

Personalized greeting cards are appropriate for a variety of occasions, from the special to the everyday. Pii has developed a line of cards that highlights milestones in customer relationships, such as win-back of a lost customer. The package includes other opportunities to use high-touch greeting cards with specific messaging:
· Welcome a new customer
· Thank a current customer for providing a referral
· Remind a customer about policy renewal
· Request an appointment or policy review
· Apologize for an oversight or error
· Ask a customer to update his or her personal information

Here’s an added benefit: Nearly two-thirds of people feel inspired to reply when receiving a card. So greeting cards can be used to initiate two-way communication — especially when a card includes the sender’s contact information or a business reply card (BRC).

Stand out from the competition
Greeting cards offer a personal touch that customers will appreciate. With so many options available, the communications format should always be appropriate to the message and target audience. Sometimes, an e-mail may be best. However, if competitors are shifting even the most important touchpoints to e-formats, staying in contact the old-fashioned way can help businesses stand out from the crowd.

To learn more about Pii’s personalized greeting cards, other direct mail programs and online ordering system Conductor, contact Ron Drenning, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, at 800.883.1156.

Fun Facts: A Short History of Greeting Cards
* The custom of sending greeting cards can be traced back to the ancient Chinese, who exchanged messages of goodwill to celebrate the new year.
* Early Egyptians conveyed greetings on papyrus scrolls.
* The first published Christmas card appeared in London in 1842.
* German immigrant Louis Prang began the U.S. greeting card industry in 1856.

Woodbridge, NJ (PRWEB) July 1, 2010 — NIP Specialty Brokerage, a division of NIP Group, Inc., is thrilled to announce the development and launch of an admitted, all-lines binding facility targeting several specific commercial artisan contractor classes. NIP Specialty Brokerage is a wholesale brokerage operation targeting non-standard commercial risks.

The contractor classes covered by this new facility are: Plumbing, Electrical, Heating, Air Conditioning, HVAC, Refrigeration, Solar Energy and Alarm and Communication Systems. While the facility is focused on commercial contractors, incidental residential work will be considered.

“We are always looking for ways to help our agents and brokers, whether it’s solving complex problems or, in this case, giving them a better solution for some very large and growing classes of business,” said Dean Mortilla, President of NIP Specialty Brokerage. “We worked with our Programs group to create a unique new binding facility focused on these contractor classes, one that lets brokers get all their coverages from one source. And to make it even easier, we have the pen to underwrite submissions, so we can give brokers quick responses.”

The new facility is underwritten in partnership with an AM Best A rated (Excellent) admitted carrier. Comprehensive standard coverages include General Liability, Auto Liability, Property, Inland Marine, Workers’ Compensation and Umbrella, with many important coverage enhancements that will let brokers tailor coverage to meet different contractors’ individual needs. The facility is available nationwide. For full details, please visit: http://www.nipgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Contractor-Facility-Overview.pdf.

“We wanted to develop a comprehensive facility for these contractor classes that was easy for brokers to do business with and a great fit for their clients,” Mortilla said. “This is an admitted, A rated, multi-line ISO-based package program that was specifically designed for contractors, with many specialized coverages and low minimum premiums. That makes it the right choice for all of these contractor classes, and their brokers.”

For more information on NIP Specialty’s new facility, call 1-800-446-7647 ext. 515. To submit business, email to NIPSpecialty (at) NIPGroup (dot) com or fax to 732-634-2904.
