When has anyone ever received a greeting card in the mail and not opened it? Personalized messaging can add big impact to this “old-fashioned” direct-mail option.

Bloomington, IL (PRWEB) July 9, 2010 — In this age of instantaneous e-communications, the idea of mailing greeting cards may seem so 20th century. Even in a largely digital world, however, a personal touch can help build trust and enhance business.

Progressive Impressions International (Pii) breathes new life into the “old-fashioned” greeting card with business-specific milestones and industry-leading personalization capabilities that incorporate each recipient’s name within the graphic image. Businesses can also personalize the message and add their contact information to the cards.

This product development was driven by a simple fact: Everyone likes to get personal mail. In fact, 90 percent of Americans say they look forward to receiving personal letters and greeting cards, according to the Greeting Card Association. A personalized greeting card conveys value and warmth. It provides a tactile experience that can be relived time after time — rather than deleted and forgotten like an e-mail.

Personalized greeting cards are appropriate for a variety of occasions, from the special to the everyday. Pii has developed a line of cards that highlights milestones in customer relationships, such as win-back of a lost customer. The package includes other opportunities to use high-touch greeting cards with specific messaging:
·	Welcome a new customer
·	Thank a current customer for providing a referral
·	Remind a customer about policy renewal
·	Request an appointment or policy review
·	Apologize for an oversight or error
·	Ask a customer to update his or her personal information

Here’s an added benefit: Nearly two-thirds of people feel inspired to reply when receiving a card. So greeting cards can be used to initiate two-way communication — especially when a card includes the sender’s contact information or a business reply card (BRC).

Stand out from the competition
Greeting cards offer a personal touch that customers will appreciate. With so many options available, the communications format should always be appropriate to the message and target audience. Sometimes, an e-mail may be best. However, if competitors are shifting even the most important touchpoints to e-formats, staying in contact the old-fashioned way can help businesses stand out from the crowd.

To learn more about Pii’s personalized greeting cards, other direct mail programs and online ordering system Conductor, contact Ron Drenning, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, at 800.883.1156.
Fun Facts: A Short History of Greeting Cards
* The custom of sending greeting cards can be traced back to the ancient Chinese, who exchanged messages of goodwill to celebrate the new year.
* Early Egyptians conveyed greetings on papyrus scrolls.
* The first published Christmas card appeared in London in 1842.
* German immigrant Louis Prang began the U.S. greeting card industry in 1856.

Countless Floridians are finding themselves in the same predicament. One of the two major carriers has non-renewed their homeowners policy and their current agent is telling them Citizens is their only option. Now your Solution is Max Value Insurance.

Miami, Florida (PRWEB) May 3, 2010 — Countless Floridians are finding themselves in the same predicament. One of the two major carriers has non-renewed their Homeowners Insurance policy and their current agent is telling them Citizens is their only option.

Now Max Value Insurance has other options with great low rates. MVIG has several “A” rated admitted and surplus lines carriers lined up eager to write homeowners policies in Florida and several other coastal states. These carriers are also aggressive about giving wind mitigation discounts to newer homes and older homes with updated roofs and/or shutters. Homeowners that have older homes, coastal or beachfront, secondary or seasonal, vacant or occupied, MVIG has insurance markets for all those risks. They’ll have you “Quoted Bound and Billed within the Hour!”

“I heard it countless times from different prospective clients that get referred to our agency,” says Mario W. Pino, President and Principal Agent of Max Value Insurance Group (MVIG), “They call me when one of our existing clients, a friend, relative or neighbor, tells them we got them a great rate with a private insurer. ‘You mean Citizens is not my only option.’ Well it may be the only option they have for you, but it’s definitely not your only option.”

Citizens was originally set up as Florida’s insurance of last resort. In the last several years it’s been taking on more and more policies. Mostly because its pricing has been undercutting the private markets. After many years of these types of practices many have warned that if Florida is hit with a major catastrophic event, that affected a large portion of the state, Citizens would be hard pressed to cover the losses. They are encouraging them to increase reserves and to raise rates to enable them to cover future losses.” Politics have made Citizens a contender where it should have been a safety net for homeowners who couldn’t get coverage anywhere else. New carriers won’t enter the market to be undercut or have to lower premiums to dangerous levels to compete. These carriers can’t collect low premiums and then assess their policy holders if they can’t cover a loss from a catastrophic event.”

New statistics by Endsleigh show Doncaster as the number one place in the UK for accidents in the home.

(PRWeb UK) April 19, 2010 — People in Doncaster should be careful when plastering their walls or putting up their new flat screen TV. According to new statistics out today by home insurance expert Endsleigh, Doncaster is home to the clumsiest people in the UK. Those living in York were at the other end of the scale - being named the most safety conscious at home.

The results also showed that six out of the top ten most accident prone towns and cities are in the South of England, with four of these being located in the South East.

The top three most and least accident prone towns and cities in the UK are:

Most accident prone:
1. Doncaster
2. Gloucester
3. Burnley

Least accident prone:
1. York
2. Cambridge
3. Swindon

The new figures were revealed in Endsleigh’s ‘Home Accidents Report 2010′, which shows the top ten most and least accident prone towns and cities for accidental damage in the home. The results were collected by analysing household claims over the last four years from tens of thousands of Endsleigh policyholders across the UK.

Endsleigh analyses the percentage of claims in different UK towns and cities against the number of Endsleigh policyholders, ranking them based on the comparative risk of accidental damage, rather than on the total number of claims there have been.

Stuart Wartalski, Endsleigh Spokesperson said,

“Accidents at home are not uncommon, but householders are particularly vulnerable to mishaps during bank holidays when many of us consider using the extended weekend as an opportunity to make long-awaited changes including spring cleans and home improvements. This is why at Endsleigh we are giving away free home emergency cover to anyone who purchases joint contents and buildings insurance direct with us throughout April.

It is important for people to ensure they have adequate cover. The pricing of household insurance is taken on a case-by-case basis, taking into account a number of factors such as postcode, value of goods, likelihood of theft or damage; it therefore varies within different cities.”

Many accidents could be avoided by spending more time on planning and ensuring that the necessary precautions are taken. Endsleigh’s top tips for reducing the risk of accidental damage in the home are:
•	Plan enough time to do the job well – rushing things can not only mean that the job won’t be done properly, but it can also lead to accidents
•	Never make do with equipment – you need to use appropriate tools for the tasks and always read the instructions first
•	Before knocking into a wall, or even hammering a nail in, check that there are no water pipes or electrical wiring in the immediate area
•	If painting or decorating a room, make sure that you think about more than just the walls – paint can get spilt or splashed, so get dust sheets to cover your carpets or flooring
•	Know your limitations and plan well beforehand. If you are unsure whether you can do it or not, consult a professional

Endsleigh’s home insurance policies are available online via www.endsleigh.co.uk and by telephone on 0800 028 3571.

Further Information

Endsleigh is an independent intermediary specialising in the provision of insurance and financial products for career people.

Originally founded in 1965 to serve the student market, Endsleigh is now the preferred insurance supplier for a variety of professional organisations, offering a wide range of services including motor, home, student and travel insurance.

Post Office Home Insurance advises homeowners to check their policies before taking on improvement work.

London, UK (PRWeb UK) 17 April 2010 — New research has revealed that one in five homeowners have started a DIY job which they have no idea how to finish . Post Office Home Insurance reminds these ‘have a go’ homeowners of the importance of checking the terms of their home insurance policy regarding accidental damage cover before attempting potentially tricky repair tasks themselves.

Post Office Home Insurance also suggests that home insurance policy holders should check what their home insurance policy already covers before taking on DIY work. Home insurance policies may already provide cover for any repairs needing work, meaning that homeowners can avoid potential DIY mishaps.

For bathroom or kitchen repairs, for example, most home contents insurance policies will cover water damage as standard, while standard home insurance may cover the cost of repairing the faulty apparatus or pipe or a leaky water tank. In most cases, however, the cost of repairs will only be covered if the work is carried out by an approved tradesman appointed by the home insurance provider, and not arranged or undertaken by the homeowner themselves.

Many insurers give customers the option of adding to their home insurance policy to cover contents against flood, explosion and accidental damage to various household items. Post Office Home Insurance reminds homeowners to select the policy to best suit their own individual circumstances, and that further damage caused by attempted repairs could often cost more in the long run.

Underestimating the value of wardrobe contents could affect the outcome of a home insurance claim

London, UK (PRWeb UK) April 16, 2010 — A new study into the value of wardrobe contents has found that the contents of a woman’s wardrobe are worth around £7,000. However, estimates show that most women would value their clothing at £3,500, half of what the contents are actually worth.

In light of this research, Post Office Home Insurance is reminding women to ensure they have appropriate home insurance cover to protect their belongings.

Post Office Home Insurance advises people to assess the details of their home insurance policy carefully. For example, most home insurance providers offer cover on a ‘new for old’ basis, which means the value should reflect the cost of replacing an item with a new version .

Post Office Home Insurance also advises policy holders to ensure they keep a detailed an inventory as possible of items in their wardrobe. Valuations of expensive clothes and taking photographs of unusual or specific items could also assist in calculating the value of clothes in case of a home insurance claim.

Additionally, Post Office Home Insurance recommends that people check to see if their home insurance policy has a single item limit. If a limit applies, valuable items such as jewellery may need to be specified separately when taking out the policy in order to be covered by home insurance.

(THE WASHINGTON POST) - Homeowners in the Washington area are relatively lucky when it comes to homeowners insurance. The average cost of coverage is less than $700 a year in Maryland and Virginia, well below the national average, and slightly more than $1,000 annually in the District. And locals have plenty of coverage options — even people with waterfront property can choose from several insurers.

With drifting cherry blossoms the harbingers of spring storms, and the start of hurricane season June 1, it is a good time to review your homeowners policy to make sure you’re protected from the weather, especially since there’s a 30-day waiting period before flood coverage takes effect.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is to base their home’s insurance value on its market value. The numbers are totally different. You need enough insurance to pay to rebuild your home if it is destroyed, which can be a lot less than its market value — especially in the D.C. area, where land is so expensive. You can’t reduce your insurance coverage just because your home’s market value has decreased, either.

“Construction costs and labor rates have not gone down,” said Arthur Slade of the D.C. Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking.

Research reveals the average wedding gift list is worth £1,900

London, UK (PRWeb UK) 18 February, 2010 — As a new report reveals the average value of a wedding gift list may be as high as £1,900, Post Office Home Insurance is offering extra peace of mind by increasing home contents insurance cover for its customers during family weddings.

With an estimated 70 per cent of couples registering a gift list with department stores or wedding list specialists, Post Office Home Insurance recognises that brides and husbands to be may find they have more valuables in their homes than normal, as gifts are stored at home both in advance and after the wedding. Post Office Home Insurance understands that the risk of theft or accidental damage to valuables that aren’t explicitly covered by an existing home insurance policy could be an unwanted concern in the run-up to the big day.

To help alleviate any worries, Post Office Home Insurance automatically increases the level of home contents insurance cover for its customers by 10 per cent at no extra cost. The 10 per cent increase in home contents insurance cover is valid for two months in total, and is effective for one month either side of the wedding day.

In addition to family weddings, the 10 per cent home contents insurance cover increase is also valid at Christmas and over other religious festivals. The home insurance increase over the Christmas period applies from 1 December to 31 December.

London, UK (PRWeb UK) February 5, 2010 — Recent research by the Association of British Insurers has reported that the cost of fire damage in the UK is now higher than ever before. In light of these findings, the Post Office advises homeowners to ensure they take out adequate home insurance to cover valued possessions against fire.

During the first half of 2009, insurers paid out £639m due to fire damage, whilst the cost of the average domestic fire claim doubled to £8,000 in the last decade. In response, the Post Office is encouraging people to review their current home insurance policy to ensure any recent purchases, such as new electrical goods or furniture, are covered by their current levels of contents insurance.

Post Office Home Insurance advises homeowners to check specific home insurance cover levels are still appropriate to cover all fixtures, fittings and furnishings around the house. It is also worth considering the actual value of replacing all items in the home - including clothes in the wardrobe - when revisiting home insurance cover, to ensure everything could be replaced should a disaster such as a fire or flooding occur.
