U.S. and Canadian drivers now have an easier path to travel to Mexico with a series of new Mexican auto insurance policy changes offered by Mexican Insurance Store.com

Perris, CA (PRWEB) July 29, 2010

U.S. and Canadian drivers now have an easier path to travel to Mexico with a series of new Mexican auto insurance policy changes offered by Mexican Insurance Store.com

Those looking to drive in Mexico can now take advantage of recent changes that make the often long and arduous process of dealing with an auto accident in a foreign country considerably less time consuming.

Mexican Insurance Store.com has announced a new Mexican Auto Insurance policy that allows people who travel in Mexico and need to file a claim to finish the paperwork in Canada and the United States, saving time and money.

As the Mexican car insurance Terms of Service read, “All accidents/losses must be reported to an adjuster or representative of the insurer in Mexico”, but once that is complete, the process of filing the claim can take place in the U.S. upon returning from Mexico.

“No longer will customers who get into accidents and file a claim be forced to get multiple documents notarized, talk to local consulates or Fed Ex documents to Mexico and so on,” says Mexican Insurance Store founder Linden Gray, a major provider of online Mexican insurance policies in the United States and Canada.

“As it is with our policies, you can have the repairs done in either the U.S., Canada, or Mexico, but allowing the paperwork to be completed at home really simplifies the process,” says Gray, noting that few Mexico auto insurance providers offer this service and most Mexican auto insurance policies sold at the border allow repairs to be made only in Mexico.

Mexican Insurance Store has already undergone major changes to add value for money to their services. March 2010 saw the company introduce a 30 minute claims and roadside assistant guarantee with each policy at no additional charge.

The guarantee stipulates that after contacting the authorities, a follow-up call to the insured is made every 30 minutes until help has arrived. Roadside assistance on any highway in Mexico is available within a half hour as well.

“Imagine the stress of dealing with an auto accident in another country,” Gray continues. “We aim to take away the uncertainty and other potential complications with a service that simply protects its customers better.”

“The insurance is independently rated A+, so you’re receiving a quality Mexican car insurance product free of additional charges and mystery fees that plague insurance outlets at the border.”

“You’re also getting a broader coverage set. Whether it be plane tickets or a car rental, they’re going to help you on your way.”

Policies from ACE also include bail bond coverage, medical payments and travel and legal services again at no extra charge.

About Mexican Insurance Store

Says Nate Watson, Mexpro.com Chief Operating Officer, “Through our great partnership with Grupo Integra (provider of the MexVisit® product) and through observing the real needs of the market, we have customized additional added value coverage for our clients. MexVisit® is the most legitimate and comprehensive travel assistance product in all of Mexico; and it is the only product which offers not only travel assistance, but these newly developed legal aid benefits.”

Watson went on to say, “I am telling you, the vehicle import cancellation benefit is huge – by purchasing the new MexVisit®, the nightmare of trying to get a permit cancelled will be mitigated drastically.

Thousands of Australian skiers and snowboarders are taking unnecessary risks in the snow by failing to carry adequate insurance, according to Australia’s leading online travel insurance provider Travel Insurance Direct.

(PRWEB) June 26, 2010 — Thousands of Australian skiers and snowboarders are taking unnecessary risks in the snow by failing to carry adequate insurance, according to Australia’s leading online travel insurance provider Travel Insurance Direct.

Travel Insurance Direct General Manager Ian Jackson said while the vast majority of Australia’s 610,000 skiers and 230,000 snowboarders would enjoy an incident-free season this year, the high cost of snow sports meant it was important to be properly insured.

“A lot of standard travel insurance policies don’t protect you when you’re skiing or snowboarding, so it’s important to find a policy that specifically covers winter sports,” Mr Jackson said. “Never assume your annual policy or credit card gives you protection.”

Travel Insurance Direct provides comprehensive cover specifically for Australian skiers and snowboarders. Standard policies cover all the needs of regular travel insurance, plus a range of snow-related issues like damage or loss of gear, bad weather disruption, forced cancellation of prepaid items like lift passes and lessons, and offshore injuries and medical expenses.

Mr Jackson said skiers and snowboarders often carried equipment worth thousands of dollars, which could be protected with a policy costing as little as $60 a week.

“Even rental gear can cost you many hundreds of dollars if you lose or damage anything, so it’s worth ensuring you’re adequately covered,” Mr Jackson said.

Travel Insurance Direct has suggested tips to avoid loss and damage to ski and snowboard gear:

• Avoid leaving gear unattended or out of sight for prolonged periods. Carefully note the location of skis and snowboards when left in racks

• Label skis and snowboards to prevent them being taken from racks or lodge store rooms by mistake

• Use leg ropes when snowboarding to prevent board loss or injury to others

• Don’t allow poles to hang down while aboard chair lifts. Keep poles up and pointing forward

• Avoid obstacles and watch for rocks and grass patches to prevent ski and snowboard damage

• Don’t kick boots against bindings to remove snow and ice, use poles gently

• Ski safely and observe the Australian Alpine Responsibility Code which can be downloaded from snowsafe.org.au.

Mr Jackson said Travel Insurance Direct also covered the excess charged by car hire companies in the event of an accident or damage, however it was important for drivers to take care in alpine areas.

Drivers should ensure snow chains are carried and properly fitted when required by National Parks and road authorities. The Kosciuszko National Park website offers advice for driving in the snow.

Travel Insurance Direct is Australia’s number one online travel insurer and offers comprehensive cover for less than the cost of most policies sold in travel agencies. Snow insurance is available from $39 for a week of skiing & boarding in New Zealand. Popular TID products include holiday insurance, annual insurance, insurance for cruises and laptop & ipad travel insurance.

(PRWEB) June 17, 2010 — When shopping for travel insurance, people are sometimes confused as to why some plans are inexpensive but offer better benefits. This situation is common and it is not a mistake: often it means a shopper has hit the ’sweet spot’ for that plan, advises Squaremouth.com, America’s fastest growing comparison website for travel insurance.

“Don’t be concerned that a travel insurance policy is inferior simply because it’s low-cost,” said Squaremouth’s Chief Executive Chris Harvey. “You may have qualified for the very best rate.”

Travel insurers all have an ideal customer in mind, who typically can find serious savings — but the ‘ideal’ differs from one insurer to the next, Harvey explained.

“Families with young children get the best deal from Travelex, Travel Insured and Travel Guard, because those carriers cover kids for free,” Harvey added. “If you’re traveling last-minute, look for plans from CSA because their products get cheaper, closer to departure, while other carriers price for older travelers.”

If bought from a reputable company, the quality of coverage and service are not affected by the premium cost, however, it is important to make sure the insurance carrier and agent are trustworthy. Squaremouth carefully researches each carrier and policy before allowing them on the site. The products must be a good value to the traveler and provide competitive coverage. Every carrier is rated in the A range by AM Best and they all comply with Squaremouth’s Zero Complaint Guarantee.

The Zero Complaint Guarantee entitles customers to Squaremouth’s help in mediating concerns about a carrier’s customer service, emergency assistance or claims. If Squaremouth determines that a carrier has unfairly interpreted its policy, that company will be removed from the website.

Carriers offering products through Squaremouth provide identical quality of service, regardless of policy cost, the CEO said.

Shoppers should not only review what multiple insurers have to offer, they should comb through the various policies offered by a single company, to sort out which product overall has the highest coverage limit at the lowest price.

About Squaremouth
Squaremouth is America’s fastest growing travel insurance comparison site, helping customers instantly quote, compare and buy policies from every major carrier.

(ABC) - Kathryn Calley got an unpleasant surprise when she decided to cancel her Florida beach vacation because of the oil spill. She was told her travel insurance would not cover her airfare.

“I figured that we would be qualified to receive reimbursement or credit for a future flight, as I had purchased a travel protection plan,” said Calley, who works in public relations in Dallas and had planned a trip to Pensacola with her boyfriend.

“Come to find out, the travel protection plan only covers natural disasters,” she said.

The oil spill is classified as a manmade disaster, which experts say standard travel insurance does not cover.

“If I was heading for a beach that has globs of oil on it, I would be distressed as well, but it’s not a natural disaster, it’s a manmade event,” said Judy Sutton, director of product management for Travel Insured International.

“The hard facts of the insurance business are that in any policy, you collect on trip cancellation only for what is called a covered reason,” said Ed Perkins, contributing editor at SmarterTravel.com.

Post Office Travel Insurance reminds holidaymakers to arrange travel insurance for domestic trips.

London, UK (PRWeb UK) June 10, 2010 — Last year marked the first time in over five years that UK travellers took more domestic holidays than breaks abroad, with research indicating home-soil holidays will continue to be popular in 2010 . Research estimates that in 2009 UK holidaymakers took more than 42 million holidays in the UK, with 70 per cent of people intending to take a domestic break in 2010 .

Recent Post Office Travel Insurance research found that 22 per cent of holidaymakers would consider going on holiday without any travel insurance cover in place. So whether holidaying at home or abroad Post Office Travel Insurance is reminding holidaymakers of the importance of ensuring appropriate travel insurance is in place.

(Vocus) May 31, 2010 — Seniors who travel overseas will need travel insurance that suits their age, health and purpose of travel. In anticipation of increased summer travel, Good Neighbor Insurance has created a segment on travel insurance for seniors that will air on Hallmark June 1st at 7:30am (6:30am CST), with reruns airing on the Hallmark Movie Channel Thursday, June 3rd at 7:30am, Sunday, June 6th at 5:30am and Monday, June 7th at 5:30am.

Jeff Gulleson, President of Good Neighbor Insurance, reminds seniors to keep a few things in mind when they plan their overseas travel. “Medicare won’t cover most medical expenses outside the United States. Medicare Part D coverage for prescriptions also stops at our border,” Gulleson says.

The most common causes for medical intervention overseas are heart attacks and accidents. If seniors have medical emergencies while outside the USA, the State Department cannot pay to bring them home. Domestic health insurance policies and premium credit card programs will not cover the high cost of medical evacuation, often costing more than $50,000.

‘Seniors need to be aware of the fact that they will need medical evacuation insurance even for cruise-liners,’ adds Gulleson.

“Good Neighbor Insurance has specific http://www.gninsurance.com/boomer/[travel insurance for seniors," says Gulleson. ‘Besides medical and political evacuation, our plans cover trip cancellation and interruption, baggage loss and delay. Coverage extends to bedside visits from a family member should a senior be hospitalized overseas.'

Gulleson points out that another valuable benefit for older travelers is that their travel insurance will cover pre-existing conditions.

Active seniors engaging in extreme or contact sports will need to purchase a sports rider. Rock climbing, hot air balloons, kayaking, surfing and many other sports will need the additional coverage that a sports rider gives.

Gulleson admits that while insurance won’t prevent accidents from happening, it will ease financial and emotional burdens placed on seniors and their families.

Help is just a collect phone call away, no matter what time of day or day of week. Access to board certified medical personnel and language translation services – along with a whole host of concierge services - is available at all times.

About Good Neighbor Insurance

As UK holidaymakers get set to head to the Mediterranean island, Post Office Travel Insurance reminds people of the importance of travel insurance.

London, UK (PRWeb UK) 23 May 2010 — Research from the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) has shown that Malta is expected to be a popular destination for UK tourists throughout 2010. The country already hosts around half a million UK tourists each year, and according to the ABTA Travel Trends Report this figure is expected to increase thanks to new flights from the UK to be introduced this year.

With Malta set to be a popular short-haul destination, Post Office Travel Insurance advises those planning to visit the island not to forget their travel insurance. Post Office Travel Insurance reminds holidaymakers that whatever the destination travel insurance is always an important requirement.

Those planning a weekend break in Malta in addition to a longer holiday during the year may benefit from an annual travel insurance policy. An annual travel insurance policy is often a cost-effective way of taking out travel insurance cover if going on multiple holidays throughout the year.

Post Office Travel Insurance reminds all travellers to check that they should have the correct travel insurance policy in place before they travel - even when only embarking on a short-haul holiday or city break - to ensure peace of mind when travelling should delays, accidents or emergencies occur.
